THE DENVER MUSEUM OF NATURE & SCIENCE-
ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY

The Museum is proud to collaborate with City Park Jazz. At the Museum, we value our responsibility to provide quality science information for everyone in our community.

Here are some of the ways that the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is engaging the community in our scientific mission:

SCFD Free Days: The Museum provides eight Free Days each year. On average, more than 40,000 people a year take advantage of this opportunity to explore the Museum. To find out more about upcoming Free Days at the Museum, visit www.dmns.org.

Largest volunteer program of any Museum in the world: More than 1,500 members of the community volunteer at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Duties range from greeting visitors, to helping teach visitors inside the exhibitions, to participating in dinosaur digs. Many of our volunteers live in the neighborhoods surrounding the Museum. We would love to have you volunteer at the Museum. Please call 303.370.6419 for more information on the volunteer program.

5 By 5, for Head Start with the Mayor's Office for Education and Children: Head Start children and their families are provided free admission to the Museum, a bilingual activity guide for families, and a small gift.

Free ticket awards: The Museum gets hundreds of requests a year asking for free tickets to help support school fundraisers, community events for underserved youth, teacher recognition programs, and more. The Museum has a group of volunteers who review these requests. The volunteers send out more than 3,000 free tickets per year to help support the community. The Museum also partners with groups like ArtReach and Social Services to make sure that low-income families get the opportunity to visit. If you are interested in asking for free tickets for a fundraiser or community event, please send your request in writing one month in advance to Julia Taylor, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80205.
